Dr. Brian Alldredge is an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy. He is also Clinical Professor of Neurology in the School of Medicine, and a member of the UCSF Epilepsy Center. Dr. Alldredge's clinical practice and research interests have focused on neurology and epilepsy since 1985. He serves as a reviewer for journals in pharmacy, neurology and medicine, and he is an Assistant Editor of Applied Therapeutics: The Clinical Use of Drugs. He has also participated on invited review groups for the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research and the Epilepsy Branch of the National Institutes for Neurological Disorders & Stroke.
Dr. Alldredge's research focuses on the chronic treatment of epilepsy with antiepileptic drugs, pharmacogenomics, status epilepticus, and the identification and management of persons with seizures in the out-of-hospital and pre-hospital settings. The latter topic was recently studied under an NIH grant with a UCSF-based multidisciplinary team of investigators and the results were published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
